Chemical route for synthesis of ?-SiAlON:Eu2+ phosphors combining polymer-derived ceramics route with non-hydrolytic sol-gel chemistry

We report the synthesis of ?-SiAlON:Eu2+ phosphors from novel single source precursors in which strictly controlled chemical composition is established at molecular scale. The two-step occurs by modification perhydropolysilazane (PHPS) with Al(OCH(CH3)2)3 and AlCl3 xylene room temperature to 140 °C introduce Al PHPS network while controlling oxygen content followed reaction EuCl2 Al-modified upon heat-treatment. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry thermogravimetry-mass analyses revealed that reacted via formation Al-N bonds. Moreover, nitrogen-bonded alkoxide residue release 2-chloropropane an analogy non-hydrolytic sol-gel between metal chloride. Subsequently, acted as a Lewis acid catalyst promote Friedel-Craft alkylation solvent formed in-situ afford dimethylcumene. On other hand, silylamino moiety form Eu-N bonds around 850 °C. were successfully synthesized pyrolysis under flowing N2 or NH3 1000 °C, heat treatment 1800 for 1 h gas pressure 980 kPa. polymer-derived (z = 0.55, Eu2+ 0.37 at%) exhibited green emission excitation 410 460 nm, intensity nm was found be increased reducing carbon chlorine impurities through ceramics route investigated this study.
